Salary & Benefits: The base salary banding for this role is £61,176 – £99,411 in London and £52,912 to £85,982 outside of London plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution, 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Adoption of public and private cloud is a critical part of the Group strategy over the next several years, and our function is central to achieving this objective.

Our Cloud Adoption team is looking for a skilled Cloud Adoption Engineer to facilitate and accelerate adoption of LBG’s curated Google Cloud platform. The role involves working closely with application teams to enable use of Google Cloud for their applications, helping them engineer and deliver solutions to our colleagues and customers. An ability to provide advice regards Google Cloud adoption, showcase strong interpersonal and communication skills, and engineer the development of deliverables to increase the automation and self-sufficiency of our cloud platform.

Specific activities which you’ll be responsible for include things like;

  • Developing new technical accelerators and services to help consumers best take advantage of Google Cloud

  • Being a hands-on, technical specialist in Google Cloud services with detailed platform and technology knowledge, supporting our application teams with their deployment and operational activities

  • Google Cloud advocacy, sharing knowledge of cloud platforms with consuming teams and within our Cloud Centre of Excellence

  • Operating a ‘front-door’ service to the cloud platforms, facilitating the on-boarding of new customers and advising on how to consume the platform appropriately

  • Supporting creation and continuous improvement of the cloud documentation set to enable self-service consumption of the platform over time

  • Providing metrics and other MI to support consuming teams in their adoption of cloud.

What do we need to see from applicants?

  • A desire to learn about a broad range of technologies and their place within a complex and regulated financial organisation.

  • Hands-on engineering capabilities with a variety of languages, frameworks and technologies

  • Experience working with a broad set of Google services and products.

  • Experience of leading and guiding colleagues or a team through processes from start to delivery.

  • A strong technical background, ideally across both application development and infrastructure.

  • Delivery of consumer outcomes to support greater adoption.

  • Experience leading and supporting customers with differing requirements.

  • A comprehensive understanding of cloud native engineering principles and cloud security.

Desirable experience

  • Understanding of agile delivery methodologies and DevOps.

  • Google Certified Associate Engineer or Professional Architect.
