Coding Black Females was established in 2017 to address the underrepresentation of black women in tech. We are an award-winning non-profit organisation with the aim to grow and inspire the community of black female developers. We are the largest network of black female developers in the UK.


Our main aims are:

  • Build the community by removing barriers, showcasing talent and making our role models visible
  • Provide opportunities for our community to learn new skills, and share their skills with other people in the community
  • Support the community through mentoring, providing a safe space for discussions and development

Job Description

We are looking for a HR and Finance Manager to join the Coding Black Females team. You will take ownership of all HR matters across the company from recruitment to performance reviews, salary reviews, disciplinary action, and learning and development. You will take ownership of the finance department by managing incoming and outgoing invoices and calculating payroll.

    • Reviewing and updating internal policies and systems as required (experience essential)
    • Writing job descriptions and recruiting new candidates
    • Organising interviews and following up with candidates
    • Setting up and inducting new staff
    • Managing holiday and sickness absence
    • Supporting with recruitment onto our training courses and programmes
    • Managing and coordinating our freelancers
    • Tooling: CharlieHR 
  • Finance
    • Managing supplier invoices
    • Ensuring timely payment of receivable invoices
    • Calculating the monthly payroll and paying salaries (experience preferred)
    • Checking, paying and managing expenses
    • Recording monthly cashflow
    • Completing the VAT return with our accountants
    • Tooling: Quickbook
  • Office Management
    • Booking hotels and travel for the team both in the UK and internationally
    • Coordinating conferences and associated arrangements
    • Organising team days
    • Internal first point of contact
    • Administrative duties for inboxes
