Product Owner Role

About the Role

We need someone who can take ownership to formally grow capabilities within a significant functional area of the business, while personally investing in the growth of own and others’ capabilities elsewhere in the organisation through mentoring and other informal methods. Working very closely with the Lab Engineering lead and Product owner to achieve the overall Business Objectives of the Lab.

About You

  • You’re a multifaceted and adaptable individual who uses & learns new skills & knowledge in varying circumstances.
  • Adept at providing sophisticated solutions, research advice, recommendations and using your own judgement
  • As a natural facilitator and decision-maker, you’ll enable teamwork across all fields within the Programme and Value Streams
  • A skilled negotiator and problem solver who will influence positively
  • A natural leader who’ll mentor and support colleagues to ‘deliver best in class’ change
  • Have the confidence to constructively challenge decisions when relevant
  • Demonstrating similar values and behaviours to our Group’s and encouraging this in team members
  • Engages with senior business leaders to understand long-term strategic challenges.
  • Take ownership for developing and delivering a major part of the organisation’s product development programme in order to enable overall corporate strategy.

 

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A proven product owner/ change background and superb communication skills to interact with a wide range of teams and technologies as you’ll be required to have regular meetings with business and technical domain specialists.
  • Ability to grow your own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities and develop the capabilities of your team by working within an existing development framework.
  • The experience of adapting to evolving requirements for the role and flex as needed
  • Experience of managing multiple feature teams with interfaces into different business areas, along with balancing the priorities and demands as required
  • Ability to lead a team to optimally achieve their respective goals
